And the winner is????????????????????

Thinkin' Out Loud! You won! I apologize as I looked at my last Monday's post it said I would pick the winner on Monday but of course in my head I thought drawing after midnight on Monday and post on Tuesday....oh boy! I think I need a "keeper" as in zoo!

This is a list of my current books, movies, t.v. shows etc that I am liking at the moment

Key Lime Murder - Joanne Fluke Well, it was a real "fluke" that I found this book! LOL! I love a good mystery and especially the non-gory ones. Plus, this gal is funny, has a cat and runs a bakery! Not only that but she includes the recipes! YUM! If you want something light that puts a smile on your face as you drift off to dreamland then this author is for you. She has a whole slew of books out there too so enjoy. It is a very "tasteful" book! Ha! Ha!
The Little House in the Ozarks - Laura Ingalls Wilder I found this at the library and didn't even know it existed! What a great surprise. They are articles that Laura wrote for the newspaper in Mansfield, Missouri before she wrote the Little House on the Prairie books. It is delightful and many of her articles are on themes and topics that are amazingly relevant today. They were written in the early 1900's and it gave me a picture into what life was like when my Mother was born. I loved it so I would like to get my own copy.
Keeping Time - Stacy McGlynn This was a "sleeper"! It starts out sort of slow but picks up speed and then you don't want it to end. It is about an English widower who decides to try and track down her first love who she was engaged to but was a soldier in the war and went back to America only to stop communicating after awhile. Her son would like her to move to a "home" and she almost gives in but gets a sudden surge of bravery and takes off for America. It's a "feel good" story especially since I am getting older! But then aren't we all?
The Fingerprints of God - Barbara Hagerty This was an excellent non-fiction book written by a very talented writer that was able to write in a way that kept you very interested and that's not easy in the non-fiction category. It takes you on a journey of science and spirituality and how the 2 areas are coming closer and closer together. I really enjoyed this book...makes you glad you read it.
Very Valentine - Adriana Trigiani I love her other books..Big Cherry Holler, Big Stone Gap and Milk Glass Moon but they take place in the Appalachians and this one takes place in New York City. Don't get me wrong...this woman isn't capable of writing a bad book but I liked her others better....they were funny and she had great characters in them that I grew attached to.
The Mermaid Chair - Sue Monk Kidd (can she REALLY write another one as good as the first? I'm about to find out!)
COWGIRLS: Women of the American West; an oral history - Teresa Jordan (I can't put this one down! It's fascinating and all true with pictures too! When I was little I spent my first 5 years wearing chaps and a holster..I STILL want to be a cowgirl! Yahoo! Yippee....Ted Turner has a few nice ranches out west...I wonder if he's hiring?)
Stay Rich for Life - Ed Slott (I have charged myself with reading financial books because that is an area that I need to improve in...they're not like reading a novel but we all need to be responsible for our finances and our future so I hope it's not too late for me! LOL!)
Reader's Digest Long Life Prescription
Prophecy, What the Future Holds for You by Sylvia Browne.....written in 2004...this is 2010....see for yourself! There's a reason this woman is so famous!
Into the Wild - Jon Krakauer ...true story of Christopher Johnson McCandless and made into a major motion picture....ALWAYS read the book first is my rule!
Anne of Green Gables book # 7 Rainbow Valley
Hobby Farm Home magazine - I am really trying to hone down on my subscriptions but this one's a keeper I think!
The Easy Way for Women to Stop Smoking Without Gaining Weight Using Allen Carr's Easyway Method - by Allen Carr with Francesca Cesati - okay....I got this at the library and although I am not smoking at the moment I wanted to read this so I wouldn't "slip" again....reinforcement you could call it. It is strangely written but there is valuable information and I think it is helping....let's face it, anyone quitting smoking needs all the help they can get!!!!
Embracing Your Second Calling - Find Passion and Purpose for the Rest of Your Life, A Woman's Guide by Dale Hanson Bourke .....this is a very Bible oriented book with references to Naomi in the Bible but I was pleasantly surprised by how well-written and inspiring this book is....I am not tied to organized religion and have my own spiritual practices but this book is a real gem!
Broken, A Love STory - A Woman's Journey Toward Redemption on the Wind River Reservation by Lisa Jones Excellent true story!
The 10 Things to Do When your Life Falls Apart - book by Daphne Rose Kingma This is an awesome book which anyone could benefit from at any time
Anne of Green Gables book #6 by L.L.Montgomery I LOVE these books!
